It started as George's monthly night of classical guitar at the ever excellent Moon and River Café, tucked away in the Stockade Neighborhood of Schenectady, NY. After attending several times, I (Brian) asked George if I could open for him sometime and he welcomed me immediately upon Rich's (the proprietor's) permission.
We shared our first night together on January 17th and played together every month for the following 8 months. In all it was 9 shows that ranged from 20 members in the audience to 3 or 4 . We both developed a lot in our playing ability and gained much experience with performing. For the most part we played individually, switching every two or three tunes. We eventually began to perform a few pieces together; one George had been working on, a few I had been learning, and a few loops we worked out together.
It was a great honor to have been able to work alongside someone as talented as George Saide.
It was a very enjoyable experience and it may very well occur again. Any future performances will certainly be published.
